Net Zero Programme Lead, Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership

Claire is responsible for leading the sustainability programme across a large group of hospitals, and has been working for her current employer since 2013. Claire spends a significant element of her role working at both ICS (Integrated Care System) and NW level, and provides leadership capacity across the environmental agenda. Claire’s role involves developing and overseeing the delivery of Green Plans, and working with stakeholders and networks to deliver a rapid transition to low-carbon healthcare.

Prior to joining the NHS, Claire worked in the not-for-profit environmental sector, managing and delivering funded environmental support programmes for businesses, and before that spent a few years working in the pharmaceutical sector. Claire has a degree in Chemistry with Industrial Environmental Chemistry from the University of Warwick, and also holds a Master’s degree from the University of Manchester in Pollution and Environmental Control. Claire is a full member of IEMA (Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment) and a Chartered Environmentalist.
